Tuesday, 21 February, 2012 - Gladstone Pottery Museum

The other day I stopped off at Gladstone Pottery Museum. I wasn't actually intending to go, but I just saw a sign for it when passing through Stoke and I thought I'd stop off and see what it was like - I'm glad I made the effort as it was brilliant! It's housed in an old pottery factory, where you get to see all the machinery as well as the really impressive chimney kilns, some of the few left in Stoke - I wish they hadn't knocked them all down in the 1950s! There were also practical demonstrations and I got to throw a pot, which wasn't quite as easy as I'd have liked. I found the exhibition on the history of tiles, especially all the different patterns on display, particularly inspiring too. Well worth a trip to Stoke for!

Tuesday, 24 January 2012 - Not on the High Street Blog

I've just been featured on Not on the High Street's blog, with my Butterfly Metal Clasp Purse recommended as an ideal wedding accessory. As you know, I have been a seller on this site for over a year now; they sell lots of inspiring and individual gifts and it's great to see them all grouped together on this blog. It's also lovely to see that butterflies are still as popular as ever as I just love using them in my designs!

Monday, 3 October 2011 - And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon, West Didsbury

I went for a delicious coffee in And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon, a cute tearoom in West Didsbury the other day. It's all Formica and 1950s tea cosies, but it really works! They do afternoon tea and it's my new favourite haunt!
