Wednesday, 28 September 2011 - Jack Sevens, Macclesfield

I have just come back from Macclesfield to drop off some of my bags and scarves at The Jack Sevens shop on Chestergate. I was very excited when I discovered what a gorgeous little find this shop/gallery is. It's tucked away down a little alley which leads to a lovely courtyard, especially in today's sunshine! The gallery has some great paintings and the shop has lots of gorgeous gifts and things for the home, and it has a cafe too which in my opinion makes it a winner!

I love this company! NotAnotherBill enable you to sign up for a special and surprise present to be sent either to someone else or even yourself! Mine just arrived, and it's absolutely perfect considering I'm a textile designer. These beautiful items are made by the company Merchant and Mills and they create beautiful vintage inspired items, from sewing aids to dress patterns. I love it!

I just discovered this really cool site, which shows old-style football kits from the late 1800s and early 1900s. That might not sound very interesting, but the designs are really exciting and unusual, especially Bolton's racy red and white polka dot top - I feel totally inspired to create football based patterns now!

Friday, 2 September 2011 - Bleuet Textiles in the Manchester Craft and Design Centre

Great news, I am now firmly established at the craft centre sharing studio number 16 with Jess Owen of Northern Landscapes. Our work is looking great together - the muted tones of her beautiful Peak District paintings complement all my patterns perfectly. The cafe has also now reopened, so pop down for a coffee and a bite to eat before browsing around all the wonderful studios and seeing all the artists at work!
